Ski Joring Clinic & Demonstration
Spectators are welcome
As a result of the lack of snow, January 15's Ski Joring Clinic will be held at a time to be determined.
Myhre Equine Complex GRAB A TOW AND GO! Ski Joring is a fast growing family friendly sport. Tack up and clip into your skis for this family and friends sport. You will find races held in both the United States and Canada. The courses range from straight, J hook and horseshoe shape. They consist of cones to weave around, jousting rings to spear through with your arm and 3 jumps for the skier to negotiate. The course is timed with a time penalty for missed obstacles. The different divisions enable you to take this sport from a youngster just starting out on skis to the extreme skier with the need for speed. Register for our Clinic and learn how it’s done. Skiers will learn from a professional ski instructor how to dally their rope and effectively maneuver the course. Riders will bring their horses and work with trainers teaching the horse to accept a skier. The Rider will also learn how to set their skier up for pending obstacles. If you need a skier or a rider we will match you with one or more at the clinic. So if you enjoy the cheer of encouragement from a crowd of spectators and fun in the snow come join us! Hot food and drinks will be available. All proceeds will benefit Dover High School CTC Equine Program. For more information call or Myhre Equine or visit NESJA.com. |
